Adam Belair, M.S.W., RSW

DBT Therapist & Clinical Partner                                                          (he/him)

Welcome to &therapy!

I’m excited to meet you, learn about your goals, and see how DBT can help you reach them. My therapy style is direct, lighthearted, and compassionate. I’m the therapist who will balance genuinely understanding how challenging things are, and work to push you toward your life worth living. I always strive to provide non-judgemental, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive treatment to call of my clients, including individuals who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+.

How I Can Help

I work with youth adults who are 14 years or older. I have experience in the evidence-based treatment of suicidal and self-injurious behaviours, mood and anxiety disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, substance use, and impulsive behaviours. People often come to see me when they have been experiencing painful emotions and thoughts, have challenges in their relationships, or when they have felt misunderstood in previous therapy experiences.

My Education & Training

I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology (B.Sc. Hons.) from the University of Ottawa (2014), and my Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) from the University of Toronto (2016) with a clinical specialization in mental health. I am comprehensively trained in DBT, and have provided psychotherapy to individuals and their families in both community and private practice settings for the last several years.

A Little About Me

In my spare time, I enjoy drinking tea, listening to lots of music, exercising, dabbling in interior decorating, camping with friends and family, and spending time with my adorable cat, Mally.
