Heba Khan, M.S.W., RSW
DBT Therapist & Clinical Associate (she/her)
Welcome to &therapy!
I am the therapist that will balance empowering your transformation while sincerely supporting where you currently are in your life. In my spare time, I love to hike, make art, read and write poetry. If you are looking for a therapist to understand your pain and help you build a life that aligns with your values, I might be the therapist for you! I am excited to meet you, learn about you and cheer you on as you start living your ideal life!
How I Can Help
My therapy style balances being validating and supportive as well as being direct and empowering towards change. I bring warmth, authenticity and a curious mindset to explore different areas of your life, interests and passions to plan how we can actualize your potential, achieve your dream life and/or navigate the pain and suffering that you may be experiencing. My goal is to always meet my clients where they are at in their journey and work with them to map and accomplish their goals. I strive to create a safe, judgment-free space by being trauma-informed and anti-oppressive, especially as it relates to people’s lived racialized experiences. Clients may seek my support in navigating challenging transitions in their lives, difficult emotions that get in the way of their well-being or impulsive behaviours that are creating barriers for them.
My Education & Training
With a Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto in Health & Mental Health and a Collaborative Specialization in Women’s Health, I spearhead dialogue related to the intersections of health, well-being and building a life of wellness that is worth living. I completed my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a Minor in Psychology and French, specializing in how physical activity impacts mental health and wellness. My skills have been developed through comprehensive training in DBT,practicing in community settings working with individuals aged 12 and older, and serving as a mental health counsellor on a helpline. I have experience in working with evidence-based models of treatment of suicidal and self-injurious behaviours, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance use, and impulsive behaviours.
